Head of State Receives Chairman of the Kazatomprom Management Board

Meeting of the Head of State with the Chairman of the Kazatomprom Management Board

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received a report from Kazatomprom Management Board Chairman Meirzhan Yussupov on the Company's 2025 performance.

The Chairman reported that group uranium production reached 25.8 thousand tonnes, including 13.5 thousand tonnes attributable to the Company. Kazatomprom continues systematic geological exploration and expansion of Kazakhstan's mineral-resource base. Its portfolio includes six prospective uranium areas covering more than 1,000 square kilometres, while investment in exploration through 2030 is planned at KZT 75–85 billion.

More than KZT 11 billion was allocated in 2025 to the social and economic development of uranium-producing regions, including KZT 6 billion under contractual obligations.

The parties discussed long-term trends in the global nuclear industry. World Nuclear Association forecasts cited at the meeting indicate that installed nuclear-reactor capacity may reach 746 GW by 2040, with global uranium demand reaching 150 thousand tonnes. Development of the resource base and a larger long-term sales portfolio remain Kazatomprom's priorities.

Group sales rose by 11% to 18.5 thousand tonnes in 2025. The Company signed uranium-supply contracts with Axpo Power AG, ČEZ Group and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., and continues work on a long-term supply contract with India.
